Kieran Thompson
Kieran Thompson directed his first short film “It From The Pit” during his eighth birthday party, using his friends as cast and crew, and shot on his parents’ old VHS camera. That spirit of making films with his friends has carried through to his work today. Kieran has a strong and unique directorial vision but believes the best filmmaking is born out of collaboration with his cast and crew. Kieran uses a tender approach to tell heartfelt stories that provoke introspective thought. He attended Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre and The Los Angeles Film School. On his first job after graduating, he was hired as an unpaid production intern but moved up the ranks to the production coordinator just a few days later. This trial by fire led to more work in the production department as a coordinator, production manager, line producer, and producer. While production work paid the bills, Kieran continued to create opportunities for himself to direct. He made multiple short films, music videos, and commercials. His unique understanding of the production side of the industry allows Kieran to create projects with high production value regardless of budget size. Using these skills, he was able to Kickstart his first feature film, the microbudget “Broken Leg”, which premiered to a sold-out audience at the Phoenix Film Festival in 2014. He proudly calls Tempe, Arizona home, with his wife Samantha and one-year-old daughter Ruby.
